Education & Training
The Eastern Academic Campus of Kellogg Community College offers training locally for Albion residents reducing the need to travel to Battle Creek. Many participants returning to school are interested in the Certified Nurses Aide Program, an intense two-week course allowing students to earn a certificate and, in most situations, immediate employment in this high demand field.
Work First also assists participants with other areas of education and training including paying fees for GED testing. The Albion office offers technology based GED preparation as well as the most current GED Study Guide available for review in the office, and Jackson Community College offers GED testing weekly for those ready to test. Participants are realizing the importance of earning their GEDs for better employment opportunities, and they gain self confidence as they have achieve this important goal.
Goodwill Services
Goodwill's Job Readiness Program assists with employment and training for participants with barriers to employment. They learn employment and life management skills in classroom and worksite experiences while attending the program in Battle Creek. The program has helped many participants increase their self-confidence.
