Newaygo County Regional Educational Service Agency
Administers The Michigan Job Bank website - the largest job bank in the country. The website links employers and job seekers in the West Central Region easily and free of charge. The Michigan Works! Employment Services Specialist assists participants in creating or perfecting resumes and/or cover letters, and instructs in job interview tips and preparation. The ES Specialist, providing special assistance for any partner agency (Veteran's Representative, Rehabilitation Services, Eagle Village Youth Services, etc.), may assist job seekers in enhancing their ability to compete in the job market. These referrals allow a full range of services among agencies for participants.

Eagle Village
Dedicated to helping youth between the ages of 14 and 21 obtain employment either in the private or public sector. Newaygo Job Club assists participants with career exploration, educational assessment, and job placement. These services are provided in Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Newaygo and Osceola Counties.

Michigan Rehabilitation Services
Assists individuals with disabilities to prepare for employment. Eligible persons must have a disability that causes a barrier to employment. A disability may be physical, emotional, learning or substance abuse. Participants and counselors work together to explore career options and develop a plan to reach the career goal. The plan may include further training, strategies to improve job seeking and job interview skills, addressing the need for accommodations on the job, and placement services. Program orientations are held at the Fremont Workforce Service Center. Call ahead to make an appointment.

Michigan Veterans Representative
Assists veterans with job referral and placement, resume writing and career planning, as well as interview skills, and provides labor market and veterans benefits information.

Migrant Services
Works to meet employment service needs of the agricultural industry in Lake, Mecosta, Newaygo, and Osceola Counties by coordinating with agricultural employers, migrant seasonal farm workers, and/or seasonal farm workers. The office also assists migrant and/or seasonal farm workers who wish to obtain full-time employment. Newaygo Job Club provides supportive services to program participants.

Baker College

NCEDO
A private, non-profit corporation establsihed to provide economic development services to Newaygo County. The corporation is a culmination of cooperative efforts between the cities of Fremont, Grant, Newaygo, and White Cloud, the County of Newaygo, the Fremont Area Foundation, the Newaygo County Intermediate School District, and private sector organizations. Its mission is to create a dynamic environment of economic opportunities for the Newaygo County community.

NCEDO, Inc. works to retain existing jobs in the County by meeting with businesses on a regular basis to ensure that problems are resolved in a timely manner and to provide assistance on upcoming projects. NCEDO, Inc. also works to attract new employment opportunities to the county. Examples of assistance include preparing tax abatement applications, coordinating infrastructure for new projects, locating land for industrial and commercial clients, and assisting with the recruitment of specialized workers. NCEDO, Inc. also operates a Small Business Development Center to provide counseling and assistance to residents interested in starting a small business.
