CareerDress
CareerDress assists participants in securing appropiate interview and work clothing. Clothing is provided at no charge to the participant or the referring agency. The Job Club collaborates by providing a referral to participants when they begin to interview for employment opportunities. This allows the participant to work with a personal shopper at CareerDress who will assist in coordinating an outfit appropriate for the interview. Once the participant secures employment, she may return to CareerDress for 2 more outfits to assist in the transition to work.
Healthy Baby Services
Oakland County Healthy Baby Services is an advocacy and transportation service designed to reduce the major barriers-financial, social and access to service that pregnant women and young children when seeking health care. Transportation is provided for pregnant and postpartum women and children under age (5) five and under by a trained Maternal Child Health advocates who serves as the van driver. Advocates are specifically trained to address the social, health, economic and personal well being of pregnant women, infants and young children With referral from a health or human service representative transportation is available for the following services:
• Medical facilities for pre/postnatal care
• Child birth education
• Parenting classes
• WIC
• Immunizations
• Well Child Visits
• Mental health treatment
• Other related Health Appointments
Emergency Needs Initiative/ FIRST
Families Involved Raising self Suffiency Together, an Emergency Needs initiative (a group of seven non-profit agencies), is honored to select 25 families who wish to improve the quality of their lives. Those families will decide what goals they wish to achieve –within a one-year span – that will leave them less dependant and more independent members of society.

The three primary goals of the Emergency Needs are to:
1. Remove barriers to self –sufficiency.
2. empower families to solve problems by using community resources.
3. Provide opportunities for the securing of full-time employment where applicable.
Michigan State University Nutrition Program
This free program is offered to Pontiac Job Club participants who are eligible for food stamps. The program teaches budgeting for food allowance, making nutritious food choices, planning cost effective meals, and storing meats safely. With this training, participants are better able to use their food stamps carefully and learn to eat well-balanced meals. A certificate of completion and a useful cookbook are given to each participant completing the program.
Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA)
OLHSA, a non-profit organization, assists participants in removing emergency needs barriers. Services provided include funding for shelter, food, utility shut-off, security deposits, and avoiding eviction.
Women's and Teens'
Work First participants use Women's and Teens' for pregnancy detection, information on birth control, and options concerning pregnancies. Women's and Teens' has a merit program where participants may earn as they learn. They can earn baby clothing, baby items, breast pumps and more as they learn to become successful parents.
Maternal Child Care Advocate
The main focus of this program run by the Pontiac Health Initiative is to combat the infant mortality rate. They provide interactive games, an informational video, and an opportunity to learn in what position a child or infant should sleep. The program also addresses sexually transmitted disease (STDs) and other social issues as well.
